A homeowner in Texico, NM had began replacing shingles on the roof of her back garage. She realized there may be more to the whole re-roofing thing then she thought, so she decided to reach out for some professional help. She got in contact with Fortenberry Roofing from Littlefield, TX. Though she was out of state, Texico lands in Fortenberry's service area. This was perfect! When she called, the homeowner was able to give all of her information to the girls in the office, who entered it into their system and created a work file with said information. The file was then given to the lead salesman, Robbie, who reached out to the homeowner and was able to set up an appointment for him to propose some options for getting her garage into tip top shape.
At first glance, Robbie could tell there was already a lot of work to do. He measured the size of the roof and the characteristics of the old shingles. When the inspection was complete, Robbie crunched some numbers and was able to give the homeowner a few different bids with varying prices due to the amount of work needed, different types of shingles, and other add ons if she wanted them. The homeowner was satisfied with the bids given and chose the one that she felt most comfortable with. Robbie was then able to get things going with the re-roof process by getting in touch with the homeowner's insurance company.
Once everything was good to go with the insurance, Fortenberry Roofing was able to add the re-roof to their roofing schedule! Once the day arrived, the roofing team began by tearing off both layers of old shingles and the old underlayment. After the old layer of underlayment was on and the decking (foundation) of the roof was exposed, the roofing team saw that there was some rotted word on the eave of the roof. The solution to the rotted decking was to replace it with OSB plywood. after they replaced the decking they were able to start laying new underlayment, then placing and nailing the new shingles in their proper position.
From start to finish, the replacement of the roof on the garage didn't take very long due to the size of it. Either way, the homeowner was excited and super thankful that Fortenberry Roofing was able to help her and her little garage!
