Skylights Photo Album: Skylight Renovation in Lubbock, Texas
Fortenberry Roofing Co. recently addressed a homeowner's concerns in Lubbock, Texas, regarding deteriorating skylights exhibiting signs of leakage. Michael Fortenberry, our owner, personally conducted a detailed roof inspection alongside the client, assessing the existing skylight conditions. After careful evaluation, a comprehensive skylight replacement solution was proposed. To optimize daylighting and ensure long-term weatherproofing, we recommended replacing the aging units with five new Velux skylights: two 2'x4' models and three 2'x2' models. This project encompassed more than just simple replacements; it involved meticulous craftsmanship, including the construction and installation of custom 2x6 wood curbs to provide a solid, secure mounting platform. We also implemented new, precisely fitted curb flashing, a critical component in preventing water intrusion at the skylight penetrations. To achieve a cohesive and watertight roof system, we seamlessly integrated new shingles around the skylight perimeters. Our skilled roofing team, led by Leo and Spencer, executed the project with precision and efficiency, delivering a superior finished product. The homeowner expressed immense satisfaction with the quality of our workmanship.
